| We removed all the easy stickers.
the tough ones were the one on the tank. They were clear-coated
on. |
 |
The most difficult to remove without
repainting the tank. I chipped them off with a tiny pocket knife.
Chipping and gouging the original paint underneath. ( Not Cool) I
attempted to fill the exposed areas with paint dabs and smoothed out
with fine sand paper. Masked off and shot with a spray can.
Not very pro ..but tolerable for now. We will address custom paint
later when we remove the body parts to install custom exhaust and
perform basic maintenance. |

side of tank that decal was chipped off |
|
| Left side with decal still on, sand & paint over, easier, really!! |
 |
After struggling all day chipping off
the other side. I decides that sanding and painting over the
clear-coated tank decal would be much quicker with better temporary
results. Remember we will do a complete pain thing later.
Just want it to look consistent during the transitional phase.
Note purple rims...that's got to go!! |
| UGH...that ugly rear tail light fender thing..gotta go too!
we will address this issue in the next
chapter " that ugly rear tail light thing" |

Okay...we cheated. Painted the
rims after lightly sanding with... Ace hardware exterior enamel
and....yes...a brush! They are wheels, who will notice?! they will
be spinning and for the love of Jeff..at least they are no longer
purple!! |
