Life in the city
I attended Academia Delli Arti Di Roma in 1971. I received a full
scholarship to study fine art. To me there was no more appropriate
place to study fine art than Italy, and what finer city than Rome.
It was the first time I was away from home. I was alone in a
strange land and as they say " when in Rome...Do as the Romans do"
The first thing I bought was a car. I really didn't need a car in
the city, but being from California I felt it was necessary. It
was a Fiat Bertoni 1500 coupe, I learned the ways of the stick
shift on the streets of Rome.later I purchased a Lancia Fulvia 1.8 litre
sedan. I also traveled to nearby cities and
visited friend in Switzerland. We drove the autostrada as fast as
we could go and still got passed by. It was wonderful!
