I love this bike. I bought it got the parts for it and not only
made it run but made it look good. I installed a pair of stock
Yamaha RD handlebars upside down to resemble the location of a clip on
bar. I replaced the welded control levers with black motocross
plastic quick shift levers and red grips. The power plant is a 124
cc single cylinder 4 stroke engine. 10:1 compression over bore with
pushrod oh valves. This bike topped out at over 85MPH. Not bad for
a little bike! |

The seat you see here is all stock. Just the one it came with.
This is a 1969 model. I saw several in Rome in 1971.
Because it is a small displacement motorcycle it is very fuel efficient.
In 1971 fuel was over $2.00 a gallon ( imagine that!) so it made sense
that the average Italian would favor a smaller displacement machine.
It was about 1971 when the Japanese introduced the 4 cylinder
honda
super sport, in 350,400,500,and 750. As quick as they were they
gobbled gas in comparison. In my book there was nothing to compare
with the beauty of Italian engineering no matter how fast it was in its
day. |
