The American made motorcycle was always the typical Harley.  I felt they were for Hells Angels or retired doctors.

And as it would go, I now own not one but two Buell Motorcycles. Sure they are a division of Harley Davidson.  Designed by Erik Buell, the gas tank is really the frame.  the oil tank is the swing arm. the air boa is actually the piece that you would think is the tank.  Notice the front disc brake, The caliper floats on the inside of the rotor, and the rear caliper is on the opposite side for balance.  Erik Buell applied a host of innovative concepts to create a true American sport bike.  The engine displacement is just under a liter (1000 cc) the low end torque is amazing and the short wheel base gobbles up tight turns like a Road Racer.  I am very pleased with my two American Bikes. The Buell on the left is the lightning model XB9S it is also pictured below.

The lightning sits in the living room like a museum of modern art sculpture.  Its winter and the snow is falling our side .  this way I can do the small custom things at home during the winter in preparation for the spring .  Some day I will have a garage but not this year....Oh well. it does look good next to the leather sofa.

Buell Blast

Photo to the right includes the Buell Blast (black one) the Ninja 500R ( blue) and my Ducati Monster (yellow) in the back.  The littlest Buell is 500cc and has low bars and a Corbin seat. The custom exhaust ( mounted below the bike) has the distinct Harley Rumble going on.  It is a fun little ride and my most current Cafe Project.  I have a complete set of red body works and cant wait till summer to mess with this bad ride!
